Genetic Alteration in Mechyrdia

The process of genetic alteration involves sampling the alteree's DNA through extracting a small blood sample, making the desired modifications to the genome, then using laboratory-created stem cells to clone a new body with that genetic makeup, and finally transferring the alteree's brain from their current body into the new body.

Formerly controversial and prohibitively expensive due to the need for large quantities of stem cells, with the invention of artificial stem cells by means of atom printing, genetic alteration for both curative and even cosmetic purposes has become as commonplace as any other surgery in Mechyrdia.

However, some controversy still remains, as the Felinae Felices all-female crime syndicate includes genetic alteration with feline ears as part of its initiation ritual.
